Itinerary

Day 1 Dar es Salaam (Tanzania)

The tour begins in the Historical Port city of Dar es Salaam. The day is spent exploring this city and its vibrant craft markets. (D)

Day 2 - 4 Zanzibar

We take a ferry from Dar es Salaam to the “Spice Island” of Zanzibar. Our days are spent exploring the Island, spending time relaxing on the sandy beaches, visiting the local villages and enjoying the mystique and history of this legendary Island. A spice tour, Stone Town with its Arabic influence and architecture and the Slave pits are all experiences not to be missed. (B on day 2 only)

Day 5 Pangani

Today we depart the “Spice Island” of Zanzibar and take a ferry returning to Dar es Salaam and make our way to Pangani for an overnight stop. (LD)

Day 6 Arusha Tanzania

From Pangani we travel inland on a scenic route that passes via the Pare and Usambara Mountain ranges. It is along this route that we might catch a glimpse of Mt. Kilimanjaro, the highest point in Africa (weather permitting). We visit the Meserani Snake Park and a Masai Museum. Arusha is the Safari Capital of Tanzania and it is here that we make preparations for a Safari Experience of a lifetime. Evening to be spent camping in Arusha. (BLD)

Day 7 - 9 Serengeti/Ngorongoro Crater

Our time is spent taking part in the various optional Safari activities that the world famous Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater has to offer. These Parks offer some of the best game viewing in Africa and will certainly be an experience of a lifetime. All excursions are conducted in vehicles specifically designed for Safaris and allow for the best photographic opportunities. It is more than just a game viewing experience as we also witness the traditional Masai herdsman, herding their livestock amongst the wild game. Truly, an adventure never to be forgotten! Clients not wanting to participate in the Safari activities have ample opportunity to take in the local culture and other activities in and around Arusha. (B on day 7 only)

Day 10 Arusha

We depart from the Serengeti and return to Arusha in the late afternoon. Evening to be spent reminising about our Safari experiences around the campfire. (D)

Day 11 Nairobi (Kenya)

After catching our final glimpse of Kilimanjaro we cross the border into Kenya and travel to Nairobi. We spend the last evening at a local restaurant bidding our fellow travellers farewell. (BL and Dinner at own cost)
