Itinerary
Day 1 Nata (Botswana)
Departing Johannesburg, we cross the border into Botswana. This vast thinly populated country is one of Africa's few economic success stories, in large due to the immense mineral wealth that lies beneath its sandy soils. We continue northwards to Nata, where our first night is spent camping on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans and relaxing around the campfire getting to know you fellow travellers. (D)
Day 2 Livingstone - Victoria Falls (Zambia)
Today we drive through the Chobe District, where we will almost certainly see elephants on the road. We enter Zambia via the Kazangula Ferry, across the Chobe River and reach the old colonial town of Livingstone. Livingstone is home to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls. This morning we explore one of the Seven Wonders of the Natural World - Victoria Falls, on foot and from the mighty Zambezi on a sunset cruise. We enjoy some sundowners and may also see some wildlife on the banks of the river such as hippo and buffalo. (B,L,D)
Day 3 Livingstone - Victoria Falls (Zambia)
Today is free to enjoy the many activities available here in the adrenalin capital of Africa. You can choose from many activities including canoeing, microlighting, gorge swinging, jet boating, elephant riding and more! Tonight we enjoy some of the famous local nightlife. (B,D)
Day 4 Paradise Island (Zambia)
After a morning for any adrenalin activities you're yet to do, we travel a short distance to Paradise Island situated on a remote part of the upper Zambezi River. We cross the river in genuine mokoros (dug out canoes) and set up camp on this rustic island. Relax by the river, take a walk, or maybe go fishing before watching the sunset in the idyllic setting. (B,D)
Day 5 Kasane (Botswana)
After a relaxed morning exploring the island, we cross the river via the Kazungula ferry back to Botswana and set up camp in Kasane, with a breathtaking view of the Chobe River. This afternoon you have the option to relax and enjoy some game viewing on a river cruise on the Chobe river. (B,D)
Day 6 Francistown (Botswana)
At sunrise we do an unforgettable 4x4 safari into the Chobe National Park, with the chance to see much wildlife including some of the large herds of migratory elephants that Botswana is famous for. After a late breakfast we head south to Francistown where we enjoy our final evening. (B,D)
Day 7 Johannesburg (South Africa)
We take a relaxed drive to Johannesburg, crossing the border back into South Africa arriving mid afternoon. (B)
